Senior Quantity Surveyor, Location - Midlands
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an award-winning construction business that has an exciting portfolio of projects. They specialise in the construction of student accommodation, residential developments, care & retirement living projects, and are keen to hear from outstanding commercial professionals.
Who are they looking for?
Our client is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to join student accommodation projects in either Leicester, Birmingham or Oxford, with future secure work in the Midlands region.
You’ll be experienced in regularly reporting on project performance and working successfully alongside other site-based construction professionals.
Key responsibilities
This role will require you to establish and develop productive and professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including members of the team and the supply chain.
You’ll need to have a comprehensive understanding of the contract and its constituent parts, sufficient to ensuring that an accurate project business plan is produced. With this, you’ll highlighting all known risks and opportunities that will need management on the project.
You’ll take an active lead in the control and administration of vetting sub-contractors.
You’ll be involved at every stage to monitor accurate cashflow and turnover forecasts.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
Degree Qualified: In industry related degree such as Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying
Construction site based commercial experience
Organised: you’ll need to bring superb organisation skills, including time management, prioritisation of tasks and self-motivation
An excellent communicator: bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills as you’ll be working with diverse groups of people
A team player: you’ll need to be a collaborative individual with a friendly “can do” approach, actively promoting and supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the workplace and with external stakeholders
Detail Oriented: you’ll need to have a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality
Multi-Room Experience: they’d love if you had experience with multi-room projects, but this isn’t essential
