Senior Site Manager / Site Manager, Yorkshire - (with high rise residential experience)

Start date: Quarter 1, 2025

This is an opportunity for a talented Senior / Site Manager to join an outstanding and award-winning Yorkshire construction business initially on a luxury high rise residential project in central Leeds.

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager and Project Director, you will provide additional management support focussing on the supervision packages to ensure that it meets the programme, cost, health and safety and quality objectives of the Project Plan.

Role Requirements:

•Ensure areas of responsibility on the project are delivered on programme to the agreed quality.

•Run the build aspect of their section and ensure Company Management System controls are in place and being followed.

•Co-ordinate works with other package managers.

•Ensure risks are identified and mitigation measures are put in place.

•Ensure the construction budget and costs are managed effectively for their section of the building works.

•Ensure construction programmes are in place and achieved.

•Liaise with planner and identify key issues in the coming period.

•Prepare and monitor short-term programmes.

•Regularly check progress of the building works and meet with sub-contractors to agree action to ensure achievement of the Programme.

•Ensure areas of responsibility on the project are delivered on programme to the agreed quality.

•Run the build aspect ofyour section and ensure Company Management System controls are in place and being followed.

•Ensure risks are identified and mitigation measures are put in place.

•Ensure the construction budget and costs are managed effectively for their section of the building works.

•Carry out weekly progress meetings and record them, ensuring all actions are carried out.

•Through daily, weekly and four weekly lookaheads, co-ordinate and manage the interface of all sub-contractors.

•Manage cost and budget for on-site build activities.

•For MEP package supervision responsibility, witness test commission activities.

•Ensure all sub-contractors have a Quality Plan and are implementing it.

•Agree and set standards required and monitor the quality of workmanship.

•Inspect the works to ensure they conform to plans, specifications and drawings.

 •Conduct regular reviews of drawings/document control on site, ensuring only construction issue drawings are in use in the field.

•Ensure all site diaries/records of the build activities are completed.

•Take full responsibility for all plant and materials hired by the company.

•Manage and ensure compliance to all company Safety, Health and Environment Systems, including documentation.

•Provide customer-focused aftercare support to minimise defects and realise prompt release of retention and the opportunity for repeat business.

•Promptly recommend any intervention required to address any project concerns or issues.

 People Management:

•Effectively manage staff performance on project/section by ensuring they have clear roles and responsibilities.  Set and monitor targets and standards.

•Identify individual learning needs and set appropriate development plans to address needs.

•Coach and mentor any direct reports to maximise their potential and maintain their commitment and motivation.

•Undertake Company projects as required and maintain at all times up-to-date knowledge on changes and developments relevant to the role.

•Share best practice and promote continuous improvement and innovation.

•Ensure compliance and adherence with all Company policies, procedures, processes and tools applicable to role.

Required/Desired Experience and Qualifications

•Ideally a degree in appropriate discipline or a Postgraduate Diploma 

•A minimum of an HNC or equivalent vocational experience.

•Understanding of building regulations associated with MEP installation.

•Qualified and/ or good knowledge to BS7671 2018 amendment 2.
